Glenwood Middle School


The mission of Glenwood Middle School, as an inclusive educational community, is to ensure that each student experiences opportunities which inspire learning, develop responsibility, and build self-worth, in order to be a productive contributing member of society. This is accomplished through the cooperative investment of active families, dedicated staff, and a caring community.

Arrivals / Departures:

Parents, please remember that the drop off and pick-up for students is in the back (on the East side) of the building. The front is for buses only. Our students’ safety is our top priority – please DO NOT drop off or pick up your student in the front of the  building where the busses are.  Thank you!

Immunizations

Parents of 7th graders are reminded that students are required to have a TDAP booster and a dose of the Meningococcal vaccine in order to enter the 7th grade. Please make appointments with your doctor or with the Health Dept. early to avoid the beginning of year rush. Documentation of the vaccines must be provided to the office/nurse once completed. See vaccination information regarding the policy.

Attendance Reminder

If your student is absent or needs to leave early, please send them a note to the main office. There are three (3) ways to report (you only need to use one):

All absences must be reported using this toll-free number or online.  Please continue to follow the absences with a note within 2 days of the student returning to school.When sending in absence notes to your students, you must give a reason so that we may determine if the absence is excusable. When out for a “family emergency”, “appointment”, or “with parents” there needs to be clarification. If no explanation is given, we have no choice but to make the absence unexcused.  We are audited by the state, so clarifications are essential. The rules are for your protection as well as the schools if there is ever a question about why your child was not in school.
